Hi - I'm Jason, the Potter and Teacher here at Treespirit. I have been potting for some years, and i know only too well how hard it is to learn pottery and particularly throwing on the wheel from limited time at an evening class ! Why not join me for a half day, or a full day of one to one (or two if you are a couple) to really find out if the alchemy of creating marvellous things from clay is really for you ! i look forward to meeting you - if you are with me for the whole day, you are also welcome to join me for a lunchtime walk as inspiration for the afternoon session !

What to Expect
Having spent years at evening classes myself, i know all too well the problems - sure you will pick up some skills eventually, but it takes forever, and in the long run will cost the earth. I can answer the question of whether pottery is for you in a day, so you can decide for yourself if you want to invest your time and money in this craft.
These classes are for one or two people only. You dont need to bring anything, other than a willingness to learn, and clothes you dont mind getting dirty. I would suggest you wear whatever you would wear for gardening in.
Pottery, and especially throwing, is a process that has to be followed to produce the end result you want. That process must be learned and repeated over and over until it becomes muscle memory. I dont expect to get you quite to that point, but you will be amazed at the difference between the first and last pot that you make with me.
There is a lot of drying time in pottery! This often means the process of making a pot is drawn out over a week - this makes taking work home with you problematic - but there are options i can discuss with you.
